{"id":65649,"date":"2022-09-05T16:08:25","date_gmt":"2022-09-05T14:08:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/ziyambi-denies-govt-interference-in-sikhala-mubaiwa-court-cases"},"modified":"2022-09-05T18:14:02","modified_gmt":"2022-09-05T16:14:02","slug":"ziyambi-denies-govt-interference-in-sikhala-mubaiwa-court-cases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/ziyambi-denies-govt-interference-in-sikhala-mubaiwa-court-cases","title":{"rendered":"Ziyambi Denies Govt Interference In Sikhala, Mubaiwa Court Cases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Ziyambi Ziyambi, has denied allegations that either government or ZANU PF is meddling in court processes involving Job Sikhala and Marry Mubaiwa.<\/p>\n<p>Sikhala is a prominent and vocal opposition MP who has been denied bail several times by the courts on charges of inciting violence and obstruction of justice while Mubaiwa is the ex-wife of Vice President Constantino Chiwenga.<\/p>\n<p>Sikhala has been languishing in remand prison for more than 80 days following his arrest in the aftermath of the murder of CCC activist Moreblessing Ali by suspects linked to ZANU PF.<\/p>\n<p>Mubaiwa is facing charges relating to an attempted murder of the VP, money laundering and assault and in spite of her apparent ill-health, she has been dragged to court several times.<\/p>\n<p>Ziyambi denied any knowledge of charges against Sikhala and Mubaiwa, saying he has no interest in following the cases. He said:<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t even know his (Sikhala) case, or what is happening there and I am completely sincere. I don\u2019t know what is happening in court.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t even know honestly. I have never followed anything. I don\u2019t know. I have never had an interest in following it.<\/p>\n<p>We never discuss these things. During my entire time in government, we have never discussed these things before the courts.<\/p>\n<p>So, I don\u2019t know where they are discussed or if ever there is any discussion on those things.<\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t know.
