Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>CCC \u201cChange Champion in Chief,\u201d Nelson Chamisa said President Emmerson Mnangagwa usurped power from the late former President Robert Mugabe only to use his new-found powers to destroy the country.<\/p>\n

Addressing opposition supporters in Chipinge at Kondo business centre during the weekend, Chamisa said the 2017 military coup was taboo and Mugabe died a bitter man. He said:<\/p>\n

Mnangagwa stole power from his elder. Mugabe died a bitter man after power was grabbed from him. Chasing away your elders is taboo.<\/p>\n

This is why you see Mnangagwa struggling to rule the country because he angered his elder (Mugabe). Ini ndakasiirwa naSave [Tsvangirai chose me to lead].<\/p>\n

I\u2019m giving Mnangagwa nightmares as he hears that Chipinge was filled with people without any money spent or anyone beaten.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s just love. I see that you came on your own. No one gave you money. If you look around there is not even a single ZUPCO bus.<\/p>\n

If it was Mnangagwa\u2019s rally, you would have all been forced to attend it and shops and vending areas would be closed.<\/p>\n

People fought to liberate the country from white bondage and not a single political party had ownership of the country.<\/p>\n

We said one made one vote, we didn\u2019t say people should go and vote for a particular party.<\/p>\n

In 2018, Mugabe famously told journalists who were gathered at his blue roof mansion in Harare that he would not vote for ZANU PF ahead of general elections held that year saying, \u201cI cannot vote for those who have tormented me. I can\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, responding to Chamisa\u2019s remarks, ZANU PF director of information Tafadzwa Mugwadi told NewsDay that the CCC leader is daydreaming and will be in for a rude awakening during the 2023 elections.<\/p>\n
