Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The English Premier League (EPL) has recognised former Warriors captain Peter Ndlovu\u2019s contribution to the English top flight.<\/p>\n

Ndlovu, who is the current Mamelodi Sundowns team manager, became the first African to feature and score in the rebranded First Division when he played at Coventry City in 1992.<\/p>\n

Ndlovu netted for Coventry City, on September 2, 1992, when his side won 2-1 against Sheffield.<\/p>\n

As part of the EPL\u2019s celebration for Black History Month, Ndlovu has been honoured for this achievement. The EPL said:<\/p>\n

Peter Ndlovu will forever have the honour of being the Premier League\u2019s first African player and goal scorer, as part of an exciting Coventry City FC side.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re celebrating iconic players from around the world who\u2019ve starred in the PL as part of Black History Month.<\/p>\n
