Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Job Sikhala\u2019s spokesperson Freddy Masarirevu has denied claims that MDC-T leader Douglas Mwonzora met the jailed Zengeza West MP at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison on Saturday.<\/p>\n

This comes after MDC-T spokesperson, Witness Dube claimed that Mwonzora had met with Sikhala.<\/p>\n

Mwonzora yesterday visited Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison where 14 other Nyatsime residents charged alongside Sikhala and Sithole are in pre-trial detention.<\/p>\n

But Masarirevu told The Standard<\/b> that Mwonzora did not see Sikhala on his visit to Chikurubi. He said:<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t want to comment on Mwonzora\u2019s visit. Just like any other person, he is allowed to visit Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison but I was with comrade Sikhala (yesterday) from 9 am to 12 pm and he told me clearly that he was not going to see Mwonzora. He does not want to see him. If they say he (Mwonzora) saw him, they are lying.<\/p>\n

Addressing journalists outside Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison, Mwonzora demanded the unconditional release of Sikhala, Sithole and the 14 other CCC activists.<\/p>\n

Sikhala, Chitungwiza North MP, Godfrey Sithole, and the other CCC activists from Nyatsime were arrested on 14 June 2022 after attending the funeral of political activist Moreblessing Ali.<\/p>\n

Ali was brutally murdered and her remains were dumped in a disused well and were only discovered three weeks after she had gone missing.<\/p>\n

The Leader of Government Business in Parliament, Ziyambi Ziyambi, who is also Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, recently told Senators that Sikhala has been denied bail by the courts because he allegedly violated past bail conditions in the past.<\/p>\n

Sikhala is said to have been arrested 67 times but has no single conviction.<\/p>\n
