{"id":68748,"date":"2022-11-02T17:56:55","date_gmt":"2022-11-02T15:56:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/stanbic-positions-its-employees-for-leadership-excellence"},"modified":"2022-11-02T21:19:14","modified_gmt":"2022-11-02T19:19:14","slug":"stanbic-positions-its-employees-for-leadership-excellence","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/stanbic-positions-its-employees-for-leadership-excellence","title":{"rendered":"Stanbic Positions Its Employees For Leadership Excellence"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>As the leading financial services institution transforms into a Platform Business, Stanbic Bank has embarked on various training programmes aimed at equipping its employees for the future requirements of the business.<\/p>\n<p>One such program is a leadership diploma launched in late September to enhance the leadership effectiveness of leaders, equipping them to become well-rounded leaders now and in the future.<\/p>\n<p>The Bank has been very intentional about capacitating its employees and to date has already set this ball rolling by taking its key people through a series of learning programmes.<\/p>\n<p>We are currently running a People Manager Programme and have just launched a leadership and management programme,\u201d aptly titled \u201cBlue Excellence Leadership and Management Programme\u201d which is being run in conjunction with the Zimbabwe Institute of Management (ZIM),\u201d The Chief Executive of Stanbic, Mr Solomon Nyanhongo said.<\/p>\n<p>The Blue Excellence Leadership Programme was conceived in alignment with the fact that every member of staff is a leader in their own right- leading self, leading strategy, leading culture.<\/p>\n<p>The bespoke seven-month Executive Diploma is aimed at sharpening the leadership and management skills of the institution\u2019s personnel across the board. Said Nyanhongo:<\/p>\n<p>In all our interventions, we noted that we needed to expand our support for leadership growth across all segments to drive productivity, resilience and growth in business.<\/p>\n<p>This is why we are focusing on both line leaders and \u2018informal\u2019 leaders who play a significant part in leading performance, culture and strategy across the organisation.<\/p>\n<p>In that regard, the purpose of \u201cThe Blue Excellence Leadership Programme\u201d is to transform the mindset of the organization and support leadership development.<\/p>\n<p>Nyanhongo said Stanbic recognizes that the key to its success is its culture and leadership behaviours.<\/p>\n<p>As such, the power to influence each other exists in any institution and Stanbic seeks to leverage that power by intentionally shifting perspectives. Said Nyanhongo:<\/p>\n<p>We believe we are all leaders; some are leaders of teams but all of us are leaders of self. Our leadership behaviours will determine whether we reach our aspirations.<\/p>\n<p>The program objectives are: Upskilling formal and influential leaders in the network to enable robust and informed engagements through Business and Commercial Acumen; Enhanced Stakeholder Management and Communication Skills.<\/p>\n<p>He said the Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe Bespoke Programme has been accredited by the Zimbabwe Institute of Management (ZIM), an institution well known for its Management Development Programmes.<\/p>\n<p>The Zimbabwe Institute of Management (ZIM) is a professional business training organization with over 60 years of management and leadership training experience for business leaders and Stanbic was privileged to be tapping into such an institution.<\/p>\n<p>The Programme, which has 13 Modules \u2013 some co-created by ZIM, Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe and Standard Bank Group, will run for seven months culminating in a graduation ceremony.<\/p>\n<p>Nyanhongo said the intention for all these programmes is for all Stanbic employees to speak the same leadership language and hence, be able to deliver their results more efficiently as well as motivate and drive performance.<\/p>\n<p>Zimbabwe Institute of Management Chief executive Mr Godfrey Sunguro said the programme will equip the participants with practical skills and competencies to find new ways of responding to the ever-changing business environment.<\/p>\n<p>Sunguro said the program is in line with the ZIM\u2019s Mantra, which is: \u201cBridging the gap between Theory and Practice\u201d. Said Sunguro:<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cExcellence Leadership and Management Diploma Programme\u201d is aimed at providing a well-rounded leadership and management experience that equips participants with practical skills and competencies to find new ways of responding to the ever-changing business environment.<\/p>\n<p>The Learning processes and activities will be facilitated through a blending of in-person lecturing, virtual tutorials, group discussions, practical case studies, and videos.
