Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The City of Harare (CoH) has said the water supply situation is not expected to improve before the 22nd of November 2022 owing to inconsistent deliveries of water treatment chemicals.<\/p>\n

The majority of suburbs in Harare have been getting intermittent water supplies of late, with residents going for days without the precious liquid. In a statement, the Harare City Council said:<\/p>\n

We would like to notify residents and ratepayers that our water production remains suppressed at around 278Ml\/day (78 Prince Edward and 200 Morton Jaffray) against an available capacity of 528Ml\/day owing to inconsistent deliveries of locally sourced liquid aluminium sulphate and its imported granular substitute.<\/p>\n

Chemical stock levels to date can sustain the current production until the next delivery of granular aluminium sulphate expected on November 22 this year.<\/p>\n

As a result of this reduced level of production the water supply coverage around the City has been severely affected.<\/p>\n

All efforts are being made to work out a sustainable solution to the problems.<\/p>\n

Residents are implored to use availed supplies conservatively.<\/p>\n

All inconveniences are sincerely regretted.<\/p>\n
