{"id":70434,"date":"2022-12-04T21:37:35","date_gmt":"2022-12-04T19:37:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/saturday-by-elections-zanu-pf-win-majority"},"modified":"2022-12-04T21:37:35","modified_gmt":"2022-12-04T19:37:35","slug":"saturday-by-elections-zanu-pf-win-majority","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/saturday-by-elections-zanu-pf-win-majority","title":{"rendered":"Saturday By-elections: ZANU PF Win Majority"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) conducted by-elections in some parts of the country on Saturday 3 December 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Out of the five posts that were up for grabs, the ruling ZANU PF won three while the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) led by Nelson Chamisa bagged the remainder.<\/p>\n<p>Pindula News presents the results as announced by ZEC:<\/p>\n<p>Winner: <b>Mafa Mafa Kwanisai<\/b> \u2013 ZANU PF \u2013 556 Votes;<\/p>\n<p>Shiri Cleopas CCC \u2013 472 Votes;<\/p>\n<p>Ndahwi Leon 11 Votes.<\/p>\n<p>Winner: <b>Manyundwa John Manangavhu<\/b>: CCC 250 Votes;<\/p>\n<p>Makwalo Walter \u2013 ZANU PF 182 Votes;<\/p>\n<p>Winner: <b>Zhou Sithethindaba<\/b> ZANU PF \u2013 726 Votes;<\/p>\n<p>Nkomo Nash CCC \u2013 81 Votes.<\/p>\n<p>Winner: <b>Chivhoko Martin<\/b> (CCC) \u2013 643 Votes;<\/p>\n<p>Chingwadza Gibson (ZANU PF) \u2013 300 Votes.<\/p>\n<p>Winner: <b>Muleya Luyando<\/b> (ZANU PF) \u2013 <b>945 Votes<\/b>;<\/p>\n<p>Munkuli Crispen (CCC) \u2013 546 Votes.<\/p>\n<p>To date, CCC has won 108 out of 177 by-elections, a sign that the \u201cmovement has clear values, cohesive architecture for its operations and a mission that inspires hope and a thirst for change,\u201d according to its national spokesperson Fadzayi Mahere.<\/p>\n<p>There has been \u201cclamour\u201d from some political analysts over CCC\u2019s \u201clack of structures\u201d saying that will affect the opposition party in elections and governance but Mahere says CCC isn\u2019t \u201cgoing anywhere.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Notably, ZANU PF is making inroads into urban areas \u2013 perceived opposition strongholds at least since the turn of the millennium \u2013 prompting some to tip it to retain power in 2023.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
