It took penalties after an electric 3-3 draw, but Argentina won 4-2 in the shootout!<\/p>\n

Messi and Di Maria scored the first-half goals for Argentina before Mbappe\u2019s late brace took it to extra time.<\/p>\n

Messi scored his second goal in extra time but Mbappe penned them back again, getting his hat trick from the spot.<\/p>\n

In the shootout, Martinez made a huge save before Tchouameni missed. Argentina scored all of theirs, with Montiel scoring the winner.<\/p>\n

Lionel Messi<\/b> scored the first goal from the spot for Argentina in the 23rd minute before A\u0301ngel Di Mari\u0301a<\/b> doubled the lead in the 36th minute.<\/p>\n

Kylian Mbappe\u0301<\/b> pulled one for France from the spot in the 80th minute before equalising in the 81st minute.<\/p>\n

Messi<\/b> scored his second goal of the match in the 108th minute but Mbappe<\/b> equalised fir the second time in the 118th minute.<\/p>\n

Mbappe<\/b> has become the second player to score a World Cup final hat-trick after Geoff Hurst for England v Germany in 1966.<\/p>\n

Argentina<\/b> have won the World Cup for a third time<\/b> (also 1978 and 1986).<\/p>\n
