Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The ZANU PF women\u2019s affairs provincial chairperson for Midlands Tsitsi Zhou says President Emmerson Mnangagwa\u2019s family is the most persecuted in the country by western countries.<\/p>\n

Zhou made the remarks following the recent sanctioning of Mnangagwa\u2019s son Emmerson Mnangagwa Jnr.<\/p>\n

On 12 December 2022, the United States of America Treasury Department sanctioned Emmerson Jnr for his alleged involvement with controversial businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei and his company Sakunda Holdings.<\/p>\n

Addressing a ZANU PF women\u2019s league rally in Kwekwe recently, Zhou said Emmerson was being punished for working for the party. Zhou said:<\/p>\n

The President\u2019s family is the most persecuted in the country. They (western countries) are working hard to derail his programme.<\/p>\n

They have sanctioned Emmerson Jnr because he decided to work for ZANU PF in Midlands.<\/p>\n

They are now punishing him because he decided to work for the party, remember he was recently co-opted in the province.<\/p>\n

As a party, we stand by the President and His family. And we are going to vote for him.<\/p>\n

They are the ones who have united ZANU PF and shown that he can take us to Canaan.<\/p>\n

Zhou recently said the national Constitution should be amended to remove the two-term presidential limit to allow Mnangagwa to run for a third term.<\/p>\n
