{"id":71580,"date":"2022-12-27T10:42:20","date_gmt":"2022-12-27T08:42:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/former-bank-manager-shot-robbed-at-his-home"},"modified":"2022-12-27T13:23:55","modified_gmt":"2022-12-27T11:23:55","slug":"former-bank-manager-shot-robbed-at-his-home","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/former-bank-manager-shot-robbed-at-his-home","title":{"rendered":"Former Bank Manager Shot, Robbed At His Home"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Former Chinhoyi Standard Chartered Bank manager and Spring Valley Bar owner, David Patrick Chirenje, was shot in the back by three armed assailants at his Alaska home recently.<\/p>\n<p>He was rushed to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals in Harare in a serious condition.<\/p>\n<p>Mashonaland West acting provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Ian Kohwera, confirmed the incident.<\/p>\n<p>He said Chirenje was confronted by three armed men who had barged into his bedroom through the kitchen door at around 7.30 PM.<\/p>\n<p>The three armed robbers were armed with three pistols and two knives. Said Ass Insp Kohwera:<\/p>\n<p>They were dressed in black jackets and blue work suits with reflectors and were putting on face masks.<\/p>\n<p>He said they threatened Chirenje by pointing the pistols at him demanding money.<\/p>\n<p>Ass Insp Kohwera said Chirenje initially resisted their demands and the robbers shot him in the back, and then he surrendered his gun cabinet keys.<\/p>\n<p>The robbers opened the gun cabinet and took his FN Browning pistol and US$4 000 cash and disappeared into the night.<\/p>\n<p>Chirenje\u2019s son and wife reported the matter at Chinhoyi Rural Police Station.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
