Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The Meteorological Services Department (MSD) has forecasted heavy rain along and north of the main watershed and the Eastern Highlands from Friday to Sunday.<\/p>\n

In an advisory issued on Tuesday in conjunction with the Department of Civil Protection, the Met Department predicted localised heavy rains, in excess of 50mm.<\/p>\n

The MSD said flash flooding in areas with saturated soils, wetlands, impervious grounds, and along river basins, are expected.<\/p>\n

It also warned that roofs may be blown off while trees could be brought down by strong winds.<\/p>\n

People are exhorted to remain indoors during thunderstorms. The MSD said:<\/p>\n

If travel is necessary, please take caution on the roads as visibility may be reduced and there may be hidden flood dangers.<\/p>\n

Do not attempt to cross flooded rivers (on foot or in vehicles).<\/p>\n
