{"id":72551,"date":"2023-01-14T12:11:08","date_gmt":"2023-01-14T10:11:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/a-56-year-old-harare-teacher-rapes-11-year-old-learner-during-extra-lessons"},"modified":"2023-01-14T14:50:28","modified_gmt":"2023-01-14T12:50:28","slug":"a-56-year-old-harare-teacher-rapes-11-year-old-learner-during-extra-lessons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/a-56-year-old-harare-teacher-rapes-11-year-old-learner-during-extra-lessons","title":{"rendered":"A 56-year-old Harare Teacher Rapes 11-year-old Learner During Extra Lessons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>A 56-year-old Harare teacher has been remanded in custody pending trial for allegedly raping his 11-year-old learner during extra lessons.<\/p>\n<p>The teacher, Alec Masomera, who is from Dzivarasekwa appeared in court on Friday facing rape charges, according to Byo24 News.<\/p>\n<p>Masomera was not asked to plead when he appeared before Harare magistrate Stanford Mambanje.<\/p>\n<p>He was remanded in custody to February 28 for trial commencement and advised to approach the High Court for bail consideration.<\/p>\n<p>What happened:<\/p>\n<p>The state alleged that in July 2022, Masomera enrolled the minor girl on extra lessons and he allegedly started proposing to her but she turned done the proposal.<\/p>\n<p>On the day of the alleged r\u0251pe, the girl went back home after extra lessons, and her grandmother told her to go back to Masomera so he could help her with homework.<\/p>\n<p>When she went back Masomera allegedly got into his bedroom and summoned the girl and told her to sit on his bed before he raped her.<\/p>\n<p>Masomera further r\u0251ped the girl again the following day.<\/p>\n<p>The r\u0251pe came to light when the girl\u2019s aunt observed a change in her behaviour and questioned her.<\/p>\n<p>She then revealed her r\u0251pe ordeal resulting in Masomera\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\">Zimbabwe<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe.
