Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Social media bloggers Zim Celebs, have apologized to Kambucha Pvt Limited, the producers of energy drink Kambucha, for a false Facebook post which resulted in legal action being taken.<\/p>\n

Zim Celebs were dragged to court by Kambucha Pvt Limited for a post on 26 January, on which the bloggers claimed the energy drink is produced in an unhygienic environment.<\/p>\n

Court papers served to Zim Celebs by Kambucha\u2019s legal representatives Rubaya and Chatambudza Legal Practitioners seen by Pindula News, read:<\/p>\n

For reasons best known to you, you omitted to or intentionally avoided telling your followers and other Facebook platform users that the pictures in question did not relate to the Zimbabwean-made Kambucha producing company, Kambucha Fresh Zim (Pvt) Ltd, our client.<\/p>\n

The first picture of the referenced post depicted our client\u2019s product, Kambucha Lemon Drink which clearly sent out a warning message against our client\u2019s products because they are a result of a process that is done in very filthy premises using dirty containers where there was no regard to cleanliness and the end user\u2019s health.<\/p>\n

The nine (9) pictures which followed the picture of our client\u2019s Kambucha Lemon Drink related to a Zambian product which is unknown to our client since the pictures clearly depict Zambian officials in their uniforms at a site where certain individuals were preparing a drink unknown to our client,\u201d read the parts of the court papers.<\/p>\n

Zim Celebs have since retracted and apologized saying:<\/p>\n

As an online blog we strive to provide accurate and complete news reporting but occasionally we get it wrong. There are cases where an error has been made and it is our duty to run a correction, clarification, retraction to correct our error that we can maintain our integrity and provide our audience with the most accurate information possible.<\/p>\n

As you all know that on the 26th of January we (ZimCelebs Official) made a post captioned \u201c#ZCStreetZ: Forget about the end product think of the process (SLIDE].<\/p>\n

Here is how the famous Kambucha is manufactured\u201d which was misleading.<\/p>\n

We regret and apologize to Kambucha as we abide to one of the most cardinal of the ethics of journalism that if a story is not true it must be retracted as soon as possible.<\/p>\n

We sincerely apologize to Kambucha FreshZim (pvt) ltd and its associates and we would like to assure the nation that the Kambucha drink is made in clean factories ,its safe to drink and it adds value to human health and as an organization we highly endorse it.<\/p>\n
