Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Police say they are investigating incidents of politically motivated violence that occurred at CCC rallies in Chivi, Masvingo Province, and Gokwe North, Midlands Province yesterday (Sunday).<\/p>\n

Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) national spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said one person has been arrested in connection with the violence that rocked a CCC meeting at Nembudzia Government High School in Gokwe North District. He said:<\/p>\n

The ZRP confirms that investigations are being conducted in connection with the political violence incident which occurred at Nembudzia Government High School grounds on 12 February 2023.<\/p>\n

One suspect has been arrested as the investigations continue.<\/p>\n

The ZRP is also investigating the circumstances which led to public violence during a Citizens\u2019 Coalition for Change (CCC) rally at Chivi open grounds in Masvingo Province on 12 February 2023.<\/p>\n

Nyathi said more details will be released in due course.<\/p>\n
