Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Warriors defender Victor Kamhuka has resurfaced at South African Motsepe Foundation Championship side Pretoria Callies Football Club.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old joined Pretoria Callies as a free agent and signed a six-month contract.<\/p>\n

Kamhuka played in the DStv Premiership before moving to Asia where he played for clubs in Myanmar, Malaysia and India.<\/p>\n

Speaking in an interview with FarPost, Kamhuka claimed he rejected other offers from Asian clubs and opted to play in South Africa as playing close to Zimbabwe gives him a sense of security. He said:<\/p>\n

I am here to help the team move out of the relegation zone, stay in the league, and possibly start gunning for promotion next season.<\/p>\n

To be honest, I had offers from clubs in Asia, but I decided to join Callies on a short contract.<\/p>\n

The club is willing to give me a full year, but we are yet to reach an agreement.<\/p>\n

Currently, my focus is being active since I have been unattached.<\/p>\n

Playing near my home and family in Zimbabwe also gives me a sense of security.<\/p>\n

He said he is thrilled by working with former Kaizer Chiefs marksman Collins Mbesuma who was recently named first-team coach at the club. Said Kamhuka:<\/p>\n

It thrills me to be working with Collins Mbesuma. We need no elaboration because he is a legend, and everyone knows that. I adore him.<\/p>\n

With what he has achieved, he remains humble and free to us. The love he has shown me since I joined the club is amazing.<\/p>\n

His interactions with me have been impactful, and I think it is the same with my teammates.<\/p>\n
