Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Two minors, both two years old, died from water burns and drowning in separate incidents on Thursday in Lupane<\/b> and Gwelutshena.<\/p>\n

In the first incident, a Lupane minor died from burns sustained after a five-year-old child attempted to remove a bucket of hot water from the stove.<\/p>\n

Police confirmed the sad incident via their social media communication channels. Read a police statement seen by Pindula News:<\/p>\n

The ZRP urges parents and guardians to always ensure the safety and security of children. On 23\/02\/23, a two-year-old minor succumbed to hot water burns which he incurred from an accident that happened at Sibangani Village 2 in Lupane when another child (5) tried to remove a tin of boiling water from the stove. The mother of the children (37) had left the children alone and went to the garden.<\/p>\n

In another case that happened the same day, a two-year-old minor drowned in a shallow well. Police reported:<\/p>\n

In another case on 23\/02\/23 another two-year-old minor drowned in a shallow well at Wakufa Village, Gwelutshena whilst playing alone. The mother of the child (29) later checked for the child only to find the child\u2019s lifeless body submerged in water and legs stuck in the mud.<\/p>\n

Following the incidents, police urged \u201cparents and guardians to always ensure the safety and security of children\u201d.<\/p>\n
