Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>One of the two lions that have been killing livestock in Hwange has been put down, with authorities tracking the other one.<\/p>\n

Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (Zimparks) spokesperson Tinashe Farawo confirmed the development to ZBC News. He said:<\/p>\n

Our Zimparks reaction team together with Hwange Rural District Council have reacted to two problem animals in the area, and they managed to eliminate one lion.<\/p>\n

These lions were killing cattle within the locality and we are still on the ground with the view of eliminating the remaining lion.<\/p>\n

Last month, Zimparks rangers killed an elephant that had been wreaking havoc in Victoria Falls.<\/p>\n

Human-wildlife conflict is common in communities that are near game parks and reserves and this has resulted in the death of people.<\/p>\n

In 2022, about four people were trampled to death by elephants in Victoria Falls alone.<\/p>\n
