Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education says it continues to capacitate teachers for the implementation of the Competence-Based Curriculum Framework.<\/p>\n

Responding to questions from editors during a media engagement in Darwendale this week, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry Tumisang Thabela said that the capacitation of teachers on the new curriculum is an ongoing process but there is still a long way to go. She said:<\/p>\n

Capacitation of teachers is an ongoing process. Even after we have given them the full knowledge of the competence-based curriculum then came the need for digital tools and quite a number of our teachers are not comfortable with the use of these tools so we have to do a lot of online and face-to-face training, but there is still a long way to go.<\/p>\n

The new competence-based curriculum framework was developed and finalised in 2015 whose phased implementation commenced in 2017.<\/p>\n

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education said the competence-based curriculum seeks to achieve the following:<\/p>\n
