HARARE \u2013 Cholera cases are on the rise in Zimbabwe after an outbreak three months ago.<\/p>\n

By the end of this week, 834 cases had been recorded from the country\u2019s 10 provinces.<\/p>\n

Government has attributed the outbreak to poor sanitation, contaminated water supplies and cross-border mobility.<\/p>\n

The capital Harare is one of the cholera hotspots.<\/p>\n

Mayor Jacob Mafume says contaminated water sources are behind the outbreak in the capital, but he believes the situation is under control.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s first cholera case was recorded in February in the town of Chegutu in northwest Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

In 2018 and 2019, at least 10,000 cholera cases were recorded in Zimbabwe with 69 deaths.<\/p>\n
