{"id":82957,"date":"2023-09-09T10:36:00","date_gmt":"2023-09-09T08:36:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/zanu-pf-bhora-musango-proponent-set-for-disciplinary-hearing"},"modified":"2023-09-09T14:14:19","modified_gmt":"2023-09-09T12:14:19","slug":"zanu-pf-bhora-musango-proponent-set-for-disciplinary-hearing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/zanu-pf-bhora-musango-proponent-set-for-disciplinary-hearing","title":{"rendered":"ZANU PF &#8220;Bhora Musango&#8221; Proponent Set For Disciplinary Hearing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>ZANU PF has summoned its disqualified aspiring candidate for Chipinge South, Robert Nyemudzo, for a disciplinary hearing for allegedly orchestrating a \u201cbhora musango\u201d which is blamed for the party\u2019s loss in the constituency in the 2023 Harmonised Elections.<\/p>\n<p>Bhora Musango, a Shona language phrase that literally means \u201cto deliberately kick the ball off the pitch, instead of scoring it\u201d, was a clandestine campaign by some ZANU PF leaders in the run-up to the 2008 Harmonised Elections against voting for the party\u2019s presidential candidate and leader Robert Mugabe.<\/p>\n<p>ZANU PF fielded Enock Porusingazi in Chipinge South, who lost to the CCC candidate, Clifford Hlatswayo.<\/p>\n<p>Nyemudzo is also accused of setting parallel party structures in the district.<\/p>\n<p>He is expected to appear before the provincial disciplinary committee chaired by Linda Matatu, on 15 September, at the party\u2019s provincial offices in Mutare.<\/p>\n<p>A letter written by Matatu, which also serves as a prohibition order barring Nyemudzo from executing party business until the finalisation of the matter says:<\/p>\n<p>This letter serves as a notice to appear before the provincial disciplinary committee on the 15th of September 2023 to answer or respond to the following allegations:<\/p>\n<p>It is alleged that you funded a \u201cbhora musango\u201d in Chipinge South Constituency to the point of celebrating the ZANU PF loss.<\/p>\n<p>It is alleged that you are creating parallel structures in Chipinge, vying for a District Coordinating Committee (DCC) position.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that in terms of provisions of the party constitution, this notice serves as a prohibition order which means that you are not authorised to carry out party duties until this matter is discharged.<\/p>\n<p>ZANU PF provincial chairman, Tawanda Mukodza confirmed the development to The Manica Post.
