Warriors coach Sunday Chidzambwa has responded to the comment made by the coach of Uganda, Sebastien Desabre, following he 2019 Afcon finals draw held last month.<\/p>\n
Zimbabwe were drawn in Group A together with the East African country, the hosts Egypt and DRC, and Desabre later commented on the draw saying the Warriors will be the whipping boys in their group.<\/p>\n
But in an interview with The Herald, Chidzambwa is not worried by the statement. He said: \u201cThis is an open group and I must say it\u2019s one of the toughest, no doubt about that.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been called the whipping boys of the group, and we like it that way.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are the whipping boys on some people\u2019s lips, they have said it. Yes, we are the underdogs, but I believe our team is experienced enough to compete.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s all I can say.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Warriors will play in the tournament opener against hosts Egypt on the 21st of June before facing other Group A opponents DRC and Uganda in the coming days.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
