\u00a0Mbira music lovers this year found solace following the opening of Red Caf\u00e9 in the capital\u2019s Harare Street.<\/div>\n

Following the demise of Book Caf\u00e9 where mbira nights were popular, Red Caf\u00e9 became a haven for the genre\u2019s lovers and artistes.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The club dedicated every Sunday for the genre at their place which has become a platform for musicians throughout the week.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Veteran mbira musician Nyamasvisva and his crew are one notable group to have performed there.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The place under the guidance of Fred Nyakudanga has set Mondays for poetry sessions something which has not been common in local showbiz.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
They also set Tuesdays for music listening sessions, a platform where musicians would introduce their music to a panel of people who will in return give feedback.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Wednesdays were set for album launches and launch parties and reviews and several upcoming musicians launched their projects.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Talented songstress Pah Chihera also launched her latest album Haitongwe Nedemo at this venue.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Thursdays up to the weekend were opened for live band performances with several groups such as Tryson Chimbetu having played there.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
The manager in an interview with the Daily News said they are looking to expand in 2019, introducing workshops that will help artistes.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Nyakudanga who is an artiste in his own right also launched his project there.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cWe are aiming to do more of workshops to help develop our artistes, for them to pass through all the stages of growth. More artistes are not open to go through stages and the result is that they fail and this is what we will be aiming,\u201d he said.<\/div>\n
