{"id":88006,"date":"2023-12-08T20:19:38","date_gmt":"2023-12-08T18:19:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/ngezi-platinum-stars-parade-psl-trophy"},"modified":"2023-12-08T23:51:37","modified_gmt":"2023-12-08T21:51:37","slug":"ngezi-platinum-stars-parade-psl-trophy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/ngezi-platinum-stars-parade-psl-trophy","title":{"rendered":"Ngezi Platinum Stars Parade PSL Trophy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Newly crowned Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) champions Ngezi Platinum Stars celebrated their title triumph with a trophy parade on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Madamburo embarked on a provincial tour to appreciate the Mashonaland West community for their support throughout the 2023 season.<\/p>\n<p>Ngezi Platinum Stars, who shrugged off stiff competition from Manica Diamonds, Dynamos and FC Platinum, won the league with two games to spare and became the first team in Mashonaland West Province to win the title.<\/p>\n<p>The celebrations ended at Baobab where musician Sulumani Chimbetu who also hails from Mashonaland West, entertained a decent crowd that attended the party.<\/p>\n<p>The party was also attended by traditional leaders from the province.<\/p>\n<p>Ngezi Platinum Stars\u2019 striker Takunda Benhura claimed the Golden Boot after scoring 13 goals, while captain Qadr Amini was voted Soccer Star of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>Schoolboy Nisbert Muzenda was the only player in the Ngezi squad born and raised in Mhondoro-Ngezi.<\/p>\n<p>According to a report by the <b>Chronicle<\/b>, Muzenda will go down in the history books of the local league as the first player to win the PSL title with his hometown club.<\/p>\n<p>He achieved the feat as a 17-year-old.
