Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>Silent Killer\u2019s manager, Elder Shambare has claimed that it was very difficult working with the musician due to his drug addiction.<\/p>\n

Elder Shambare, who recently announced that he was cutting ties with Silent Killer, told H-Metro<\/b> that the Locker Mastreets hitmaker was not serious about his life and business. He said:<\/p>\n

The issue isn\u2019t at all about the contract ending but I have failed to put up with his behaviour, lack of seriousness about business issues and his life and drug abuse at the expense of building his career.<\/p>\n

I am afraid that if I tell you the real issues, it will further affect his career as fans and promoters will know the real Silent Killer.<\/p>\n

So, I just decided to put it lightly so that I don\u2019t cause despondency in various quarters.<\/p>\n

Silent Killer has been trending for the good part of 2023 and he even flew to the United Kingdom, at the end of October, for several shows before heading to South Africa.<\/p>\n

Drug and substance abuse is a significant concern among Zimbabwean adolescents and young people.<\/p>\n

According to an October 2023 UNICEF report<\/b>, one of the most severe public health and socio-pathological threats facing adolescents and young people is substance abuse, which long-term impacts their well-being and future.<\/p>\n

The report says risky and escalating behaviour by adolescents and young people includes drug and alcohol abuse and unprotected sexual practices.<\/p>\n

The causes of drug and substance abuse in Zimbabwe include peer pressure, the breakdown of family support, limited knowledge and availability and social influence.<\/p>\n
