Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>A 16-year-old boy from Jotsholo was recently convicted and sentenced to two 15-year jail terms by the Hwange Magistrates\u2019 Court on two counts of rape.<\/p>\n

According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the accused, who has not been named for legal reasons, violated the two women on 02 April 2024. The NPA said:<\/p>\n

On the 2nd of April 2024 at around 1700 hours the accused person met the two complainants aged 24 and 21. The complainants were also in the company of the 24-year-old complainant\u2019s daughter (9).<\/p>\n

Upon meeting the complainants the accused person produced a knife and ordered them to stop. The complainants attempted to flee but he chased and caught them.<\/p>\n

The accused ordered the complainant\u2019s 9-year-old daughter to run and then instructed the second complainant to lie down on the ground. The NPA said:<\/p>\n

He then ordered the first complainant to remove her clothes before raping her. He then ordered the second complainant to remove her clothes and he raped her as well.<\/p>\n

He then raped the first complainant again. On the 3rd of April 2024, the complainants made a report to the Police leading to the accused person\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n

The 16-year-old appeared at Hwange Magistrates\u2019 Court where he was sentenced to fifteen years of imprisonment for each offence. The sentences would run concurrently.<\/p>\n
