Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>A HARARE man, who was recently released from prison through the Presidential Amnesty, last week approached the civil court seeking a protection order against his estranged wife whom he said was bent on ensuring he returns to prison.<\/p>\n

Samuel Shamhu, who was jailed after being convicted of rape, told Harare magistrate Johanna Mukwesha that he could be sent back to jail if his ex-wife Natasha Mutyambizi continued to provoke him.<\/p>\n

He pleaded with the court to be granted a protection order against Mutyambizi whom he accused of provoking him to assault her so that he could be sent back to jail for domestic violence.<\/p>\n

According to Shamhu, Mutyambizi visited his home and harassed him in front of his tenants while demanding money from rentals.<\/p>\n

He said in April, Mutyambizi came to his house early in the morning and tried to pick a fight with him for no reason.<\/p>\n

The court heard that, Mutyambizi had been granted a protection order against Shamu before he was jailed for rape.<\/p>\n

In response, Mutyambizi objected to Shamu\u2019s application accusing him of lying, adding that the house he was trying to stop her from visiting was their matrimonial property.<\/p>\n

She also denied provoking Shamu.<\/p>\n

Magistrate Mukwesha, however, granted Shamhu a protection order against his ex-wife.<\/p>\n

She ordered Mutyambizi to stay away from Shamhu and his place of residence.<\/p>\n
