Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>THE trial of two Harare men who erected an illegal billboard in Borrowdale denouncing a property developing company will commence on July 12 following a two-year delay.<\/p>\n

The suspects, Grant Russel and Mark Strathen directors of Fairclot Investments and Paragon Printing respectively are facing criminal nuisance charges.<\/p>\n

The duo last year filed an application for refusal of further remand through their former lawyer Tendai Biti saying their application for appeal at the Supreme Court had high prospects of success. But magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure dismissed the application saying there was no reason submitted in court to justify their removal from remand.<\/p>\n

She also said there was no order for stay of proceedings and no document of the case development proof on why the matter at the Supreme court is still not determined.<\/p>\n

Mashavakure also advised the accused to follow up on their application with the Registrar of the Supreme Court for an update.<\/p>\n

They are also challenging a High Court order to proceed to trial after an unsuccessful attempt to have the charge quashed.<\/p>\n

The duo allegedly erected the billboard denouncing a property development company, resulting in the State charging them with criminal nuisance.<\/p>\n
