Africa-Press – Zimbabwe. <\/strong><\/span>THE trial of two Harare businessmen on a criminal nuisance charge after they allegedly erected a billboard denouncing a property developer in Borrowdale low-density suburb has been moved to July 29.<\/p>\n

The matter has been on the court roll for two years as trial dates keep changing.<\/p>\n

The accused are Grant Russel and Mark Stratham who are directors of Fairclot and Paragon Printing respectively. The duo last year filed an application for refusal of further remand through their former lawyer Tendai Biti saying they have a prospect of success in their application for appeal filed at the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n

They are also challenging a High Court order to proceed to trial after an unsuccessful attempt to have the charges quashed.<\/p>\n

Harare magistrate Evelyn Mashavakure last year dismissed their application for refusal of further remand saying there was no need to remove them from remand as there is no reason submitted in court on why the duo has to be removed from remand. She also said there was no order for stay of proceedings and also no document of the case development proof on why the matter at the Supreme Court is still not determined.<\/p>\n

The two business executives allegedly erected a billboard denouncing a local property development company, causing its clients to lose confidence in it.<\/p>\n
