{"id":9947,"date":"2019-06-11T14:46:01","date_gmt":"2019-06-11T14:46:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.com\/zimbabwe\/?p=9947"},"modified":"2019-06-11T14:46:01","modified_gmt":"2019-06-11T14:46:01","slug":"court-frees-two-more-activists-charged-with-anti-mnangagwa-plot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.cc\/zimbabwe\/all-news\/court-frees-two-more-activists-charged-with-anti-mnangagwa-plot","title":{"rendered":"Court frees two more activists charged with anti-Mnangagwa plot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>TWO civil society leaders who are accused of trying to subvert a Zanu PF led government have been freed on bail.<\/p>\n<p>High Court judge, Amy Tsanga released Beauty Rita Nyampinga, aged 61 and Stabile Dhewa (34) on $1 000 bail coupled with stringent reporting conditions after State changed its mind regarding bail.<\/p>\n<p>Prosecutors told court they were no longer opposed to bail considering that the activists\u2019 alleged accomplices were granted bail last week.<\/p>\n<p>The two had been detained in prison after they were arrested by the police on May 28 upon arrival at the Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport from Maldives.<\/p>\n<p>Nyampinga, the Director of Female Prisoners Support Trust and Dhewa, the Director of Women\u2019s Academy for Leadership and Political Excellence are also charged with inciting public violence.<\/p>\n<p>Their alleged accomplices George Makoni, Tatenda Mombeyarara, Gamuchirai Mukura, Frank Nyasha Mpahlo and Farirai Gumbonzvanda were granted $1 000 bail each last Friday.<\/p>\n<p>In granting bail, Justice Tsanga ordered Nyampinga and Dewa \u201cto report every day at their nearest police stations, to continue residing at their given residential addresses until the case is finalised and not to interfere with witnesses and police investigations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe applicants can approach this court after Friday 21 June 2019 for consideration of the variation of their stringent reporting conditions,\u201d said the sudge.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>TWO civil society leaders who are accused of trying to subvert a Zanu PF led government have been freed on bail.
